After a few years of Communism/Socialism, followed by short lived attempt of democracy, followed by a de-facto dictatorship, I am trying to understand, what kind of power eventually prevails in Russia. It is not a formal law, not the pressure of tradition, not a religion. It is a physical, harsh, brutal power intertwined with bureaucracy. This is the only kind of power that eventually works and wins in Russia. This is how Stalin controlled the country; This is the way of Putin governance as well. All the rest is idealism and weakness; it becomes quickly overwhelmed by the power.
Another feature of it, the power is never direct or obvious. It hides, however it is everywhere. This is what KGB is/was.
Why is this? 1) The lack of trust and history of obeying the law; 2) The lack of (uniformly distributed in the society) wealth 3) overall irrational mindset
